"And because we are different, our ways will be different. (...)
The aim is the same: to affirm the right of everyone - of all men and women - to see the great principles of Justice, Equality and Freedom respected in their own person."
Virginia Woolf- The Three Guineas
WHO WE ARE
Le Tre Ghinee is a NGO based in Rome that was formed during the lockdown as a response to the alienation and isolation experienced by people in vulnerable situations, to create a network of support and exchange.
It takes its name from Virginia Woolf's book The Three Guineas (1938) in which the author analyses how the unequal distribution of power and knowledge between genders is a key element in producing war and fascism.
We are a group of women who feel they inhabit a short-sighted world, uninterested in the demands of those who are historically and culturally in a position of disadvantage and who see in collective work and the sharing of experiences the key to getting out of it.

OUR THREE GUINEAS
TO DECONSTRUCT

We promote equal dignity among people, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, origin, physical and mental conditions, starting from the elimination of stereotypes and the spread of an inclusive culture.
TO SPREAD

We are first of all activists. We believe that activism and social practice are the first forms of fighting inequalities. Through campaigns, petitions, cultural activities, demonstrations, we shout what we fight for every day
